To be held during the Fun Match on February 20 at Myers Park!

EVERYONE WELCOME!

(You do not have to be a DAWG member or be entered in the Fun Match to participate.)

FOUR EVENTS BEING OFFERED

  • OFFICIAL AKC MEASURING: Be ready for the new Mixed Breed Class at AKC Agility Trials! Pure-Breed and Mixed-Breed Official AKC Measuring by Pam Richcreek (AKC Measuring Official). All dogs (including mixed breeds) must be registered with AKC PRIOR to the measuring clinic. AKC Registration is fast and easy - you can register online. Details are at http://www.akc.org. Anyone with an AKC-eligible dog can come to be measured. Be sure to bring your AKC registration number. Measuring will be done on a "first come, first served" basis starting at 10:00 am.
     

  • CGC TESTING: Test conducted by Deb Maicach.
     

  • All dogs must be on leash with buckle or slip collars of leather, fabric or chain. No pinch collars or head halters. Leash must be leather or fabric, 4 to 6 feet in length – no Flexi Leads.

  • Owner should provide the dog’s brush.

  • Food cannot be used as a reward during testing.

  • Verbal praise and encouragement are allowed and encouraged!

Information on CGC testing procedures can be found at: http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, the handler will be provided with the form to send in to AKC to receive your certificate.

Sign Up sheets will be posted at the Testing Ring (the washrack area). Please reserve your spot in advance or wait in line to be tested on a "first come, first serve/as time permits" basis. Time slots can be reserved in advance of the show by contacting Deb Maicach at mckinneydeb@mac.com

  • HOW TO ENTER AN AGILITY TRIAL: Presented by Ryan Lockard. Get all the information you need about entering and competing in agility trials -- completing the entry form, what to bring with you, how to prepare on the first day, etc.. She will also present information about the new Online Entry process for those of you new to the process and will explain the new height card rules! Sessions held at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM.
     

  • ASK THE JUDGE: Bring your questions about agility trials – entries, rules, procedures, etc. – to Pam Richcreek (AKC, USDAA, and CPE Judge). Sessions held at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

There is no fee for any of the above events. All we ask is that everyone make a donation to DAWG’s Charity of the Year (to be named in January). A donation bucket will be available at the event.
